Aldowa privacy and cookie statement

This Privacy and Cookie Statement was last updated on November 9, 2022.

Your privacy is of great importance to Aldowa B.V. (hereinafter: Aldowa). We therefore comply with the relevant privacy laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG).

Our privacy and cookie statement in brief

When processing personal data, we comply with privacy legislation. This means that we:

  • Clearly define our purposes before processing your personal data, through this privacy and cookie statement.
  • Store as little personal data as possible and only the data necessary for our purposes.
  • Explicitly seek consent for the processing of your personal data, should consent be required.
  • Take necessary security measures to protect your personal data. We also impose these obligations on parties who process personal data for us.
  • Respect your rights, such as the right to access, correct or delete your personal data processed by us.

For what purposes do we use your personal data?

In this privacy and cookie statement, we explain what we do at Aldowa with information we learn about you. By visiting our website www.aldowa.nl, or by using our services, we obtain various types of personal data from you. For each purpose, we indicate what data we obtain from you, for what purpose we process that data and for how long it is kept. If you have any questions or want to know exactly what we track about you, please contact us using the details at the bottom of this privacy and cookie statement.

Contact

When you contact us through the contact form, send an e-mail message, contact us by phone, or otherwise contact us, you are accepting our offer to engage with us (performance of the agreement).

For this purpose, we process the following personal data:

  • Name
  • Company Name
  • Address information
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Any information you enter yourself as message content

We keep this information, as long as necessary for this contact or up to 1 year after we last had contact with you, because we want to make sure we have handled your question or complaint properly.

Providing our services

As an organization, architect or project developer, you can use our services to engineer, manufacture and install metal cladding. When you use our services, we process your personal data. We do this in order to execute the agreement we enter into with you (performance of the agreement).

For this purpose, we process the following personal data:

  • (Business) name
  • (Business) email address
  • (Business) phone number
  • Name and function of contact person
  • Invoice details
  • Payment details

We keep this information for the duration of the agreement. We keep some data longer if we are legally required to do so (for example, because of tax retention requirements).

Google Maps
On our website you can use Google Maps, for example to calculate the route to our office. To find out where you are and to determine the route, we process your location data. We ask separately if we can do this and only if you give us permission will we use this information. We use Google’s navigation and location software for this service. We have no control over what the creators of this software (Google) do with it. So always read their privacy statement as well. More information about data processing by Google can be found in Google’s privacy statement.

Apply

Have you responded to one of our vacancies or submitted an open application? If so, we process your personal data in order to process your application and in preparation for the possible conclusion of an employment contract (performance of the contract).

For this purpose, we process the following personal data:

  • Name and address details
  • Contact details (e-mail address and phone number)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Motivation letter
  • Salary indication
  • References
  • Any other information you send with your application

We will retain your application data for up to 6 weeks after the position is filled. We keep this data so that we can contact you in case the position becomes vacant again within the probationary period. If we cannot offer you a position at this time, we may – with your consent – keep the application data for an additional year. You can withdraw your consent at any time by sending us an e-mail. If you join us, we will keep your application data in the personnel file. This file is kept for as long as necessary and, with regard to application data, for up to 2 years after employment.

A social media and Internet survey may be part of the application process. This is necessary to ensure that our image is maintained when hiring new staff. We therefore do this on the basis of our legitimate interest. For this, we search for your name on Google and any profile on various social media. This of course insofar as these profiles are public; we will not ask you to grant us access to a protected social media page or make a connection with us. The results of the survey will be discussed with you. Should you object to this, you can indicate this by email at the time of your application.

When may we share your personal data with third parties?

Aldowa shares your personal data with third parties only where permitted by current law. We may provide your personal data to third parties because:

  • we have engaged them to process certain data;
  • it is necessary to execute the agreement with you;
  • you give permission for this;
  • we have a legitimate interest in doing so;
  • we are required to do so by law (for example, if the police require this in the case of suspected crime).

The parties that process personal data on our or your behalf are:

  • IT suppliers and service providers
  • Cookie service providers
  • Marketing companies
  • Financial and administrative service providers

In order to provide our services, we may provide your personal data to parties located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Aldowa will do so only if there is an adequate level of protection for the processing of personal data. This means, for example, that we use a model agreement from the European Commission or make arrangements for handling personal data.

Social media buttons

On our website we use social media buttons, which redirect you to the social media platforms. This gives you the option to follow us and share content within the network. You will also see advertisements on your social media page. The buttons work because of pieces of code that come from the social media networks. If you want to know what the social media platforms do with your personal data, please read the relevant privacy statement:

These social media companies are based in the United States. They claim to adhere to Privacy Shield principles and have joined the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Privacy Shield program. Until recently, joining the Privacy Shield program meant that there was an adequate level of protection for the processing of any personal data. However, with the EU Court of Justice ruling of July 16, 2020 (Schrems II case), this Privacy Shield has been declared invalid. We are currently exploring how best to overcome this. We are very committed to privacy and are trying to do everything we can to reach an appropriate solution. If we have a suitable solution, we will inform you about it via this privacy statement. Do you have questions about the processing of your personal data? Please contact us, using the contact details in this privacy statement.
